Edward L. Levine is Professor of Psychology at the University of South Florida, Tampa. His previous experience includes five years as Chief of Selection for the State of Arizona and extensive work as a consultant, researcher and trainer. He received his PhD in industrial/organizational psychology from New York University in 1970. He is coauthor of Training and Experience Evaluation (with Wayne R. Porter and Abram Flory III) and Reference Checking for Personnel Selection (with Stephen M. Rudolph) and has written many articles on personnel selection and personnel administration. In his work he has developed and conducted hundreds of employment interviews and has trained many others in the art and science of interviewing. In preparing this booklet, Dr. Levine drew on his own wide thinking on employment interviewing, and the relevant equal employment opportunity laws and guidelines.
