Anam Cara

by Mahan Siler

Default

This book raises the question: what if pastors offered their leadership from within the context of intentional community? And if so, what form might it take? This book is a resource and a guide to clergy who are interested in forming their own collegial group. Written from the experience of a pastor in ongoing community, the vision of AnamCara, small communities of collegial friends, is explored.

About the Author: Ordained in 1957, Mahan Siler has alternated between being a pastor and working with pastors. Since retiring from pastoral ministry in 1998, he has experimented with collegial clergy groups as an alternative to practicing ministry in virtual isolation. This book reflects the learning from these experiences. He and his wife, Janice, now live in Asheville, North Carolina.
