Ruben Booker .Turner was born and raised in the agricultural area of southhampton County Virginia in the small town of Capron. He descended from a long line of dedicated Christian leaders beginning with his Great Grand Father Abram Ruben Turner who ame out of slavery and helped to pioneer Rising Star Baptist Church, the oldest African American Church in Southhampton County.

Ruben later became involved with the Pentecostal Movement and was a member of the Church of God in Christ for five years. He eventually became a member of the Church of the Holy City in Emporia, Virginia where he was ordained for the ministry in 1986.

Ruben and his wife graduated from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1999 where they were active as members of Rhema Bible Church. Ruben also graduated from Paul D. Camp Community College in Franklin, Virginia in 1977 with an Associate Degree in Business Technology and from Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Ruben also attended Oral Roberts University Graduate School.

With a strong desire to work with disadvantaged children in outreach ministry, Ruben became a member of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2001, where he became active as a volunteer at the Tulsa Dream Center and was also involved with cell group ministry. He is now an Associate Pastor at Simmons Chapel Baptist Church in Haskell. Oklahoma and he and his wife Helen also travel internationally on the evangelistic field.

Ruben and Helen live in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and are the parents of four daughters and have been blessed with four grand children.
